Bike Anywhere Day on the Coronado Ferry

May 14, 2026 | Posted in Seasonal

Join hundreds of fellow commuters crossing the bay! If your commute already takes you through Broadway Pier, this is an easy win. If it doesn’t, Thursday, May 21 is the perfect day to start.

That morning marks Bike Anywhere Day, a local cycling tradition San Diego has celebrated for over three decades. The Flagship Ferry is proud to be one of more than 100 official pit stops, located right where the action is: Broadway Pier.

Here's what to expect.

The Morning Setup

We’re starting early to fuel your commute:

  • 4:50 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.: Cyclists boarding the ferry can enjoy free coffee to kickstart their ride.
  • 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.: The official pit stop activity begins with Holland’s Bicycles and Crown City Cyclists handing out event T-shirts, Power Bars, donuts, and fresh fruit (while supplies last)[cite: 22].

The Ferry Already Loves Cyclists

If you’ve never taken your bike on the Flagship Ferry, here’s the best part: your bike rides for free.

There are no surcharges, no special tickets, and no need to fold it up. Simply wheel it on, find a spot, and enjoy the 15-minute breeze across the bay.

What to Know Before You Roll

The ferry runs between Broadway Pier (990 North Harbor Drive) and the Coronado Ferry Landing. Bikes board alongside foot passengers.

To make the most of the day, Register for free on the official Bike Anywhere Day website and find other pit stops across the region.

The Future of the Crossing

Bike Anywhere Day encourages clean, healthy commuting—a mission we share[cite: 20, 24]. We are currently building California’s first fully electric, zero-emission ferries, ensuring the Coronado crossing stays green and bike-friendly for years to come.
